轴流泵分为两种有蜗壳式轴流泵和导叶式轴流泵。蜗壳式轴流泵主要由泵体、泵盖、叶轮、泵轴、轴承体和轴封装置等组成。
叶式轴流泵又叫斜流泵，导叶式轴流泵与蜗壳式不同之处，主要在泵体内有几个通常为扭曲叶片式空间导叶装置。液体从叶轮出来经过导叶后便沿轴向流动。
这种泵一般有卧式和立式两种，内部结构基本相同。大口径的大多做成立式的。小口径立式导叶式轴流泵外形很像离心式浅井泵，这种泵结构简单、便于移动，适用于农田排灌，故称它为混流式农排泵。
新投入使用的泵，一般在运转500小时后要更换润滑脂(油)，以后每运转1000小时要更换一次。使用润滑脂润滑的流动轴承运行1500小时后，立式轴流泵厂家应更换润滑脂。加入的油量不应过多或过少，因为过多或过少的润滑脂会导致轴承发热。
加油量一般控制在轴承室体积的1/2~2/3。对于使用润滑油润滑的轴承，油量应增加到位置。装有润滑油或润滑脂的容器应清洁，平时应密封，无灰尘、铁屑等杂物，以免损坏轴承。
潜水马达轴承一般采用钠基润滑脂，这种润滑脂具有耐高温(125℃)、易溶于水的特点，因此不能用于泵轴承的润滑。

Vane axial flow pump is also called diagonal flow pump. The difference between guide vane axial flow pump and volute type is that there are several usually twisted vane space guide vane devices in the pump body. The liquid flows along the axial direction after coming out of the impeller and passing through the guide vane.
This kind of pump is generally horizontal and vertical, and its internal structure is basically the same. Most of the large caliber ones are established. The shape of small-diameter vertical guide vane axial flow pump is very similar to centrifugal shallow well pump. This kind of pump has simple structure and is easy to move. It is suitable for farmland drainage and irrigation, so it is called mixed flow agricultural drainage pump.
For the pump newly put into use, the lubricating grease (oil) shall be replaced after 500 hours of operation, and then it shall be replaced every 1000 hours of operation. After the flow bearing lubricated with grease runs for 1500 hours, the manufacturer of vertical axial flow pump shall replace the grease. The amount of oil added should not be too much or too little, because too much or too little grease will cause the bearing to heat up.
The oil filling volume is generally controlled at 1 / 2 ~ 2 / 3 of the volume of the bearing chamber. For bearings lubricated with lubricating oil, the amount of oil should be increased to the position. The container containing lubricating oil or grease shall be clean and sealed at ordinary times, free of dust, iron filings and other sundries, so as not to damage the bearing.
Sodium based grease is generally used for submersible motor bearings. This kind of grease has the characteristics of high temperature resistance (125 ℃) and easy dissolution in water, so it can not be used for pump bearing lubrication.
